Introduction

Welcome!!! Hello and thank you for taking time to stop by...my name is Azmen and I am the Owner/ Operator of Hope's Halo Therapy Collective, PLLC. I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2012 with my master's degree in social work with a focus on Policy, Planning and Administration. I earned my CAADC: Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor State Certification in 2018 and am a certified Acudetox Specialist: licensed in the 5-point ear acupuncture needle technique. I am the mother of two teens (19 and 17) and a dog mom of 2 and 5 new puppies. I love meeting new people, I'm funny and quick witted but giving. I value transparency and humanizing the aspects of life that are difficult to speak about. I prioritize working in partnership with those who I am privileged enough to share time with.

Philosophy

"Honesty without compassion is brutality."

My middle name is Hope, hence Hope's Halo. My mom, as I grew up and went through my rebellious teens (which actually started before I was a teen) said she always leaned on my middle name to help her overcome any stress, doubt and fear she faced as I triumphed over adversities and trauma. I've held on to that hope; using it to guide my own individual healing and serve as a compass of healing for others. Halo is derived from the Greek word: Halos, meaning a circle of light around the sun. I tend to focus on finding light in the darkest of situations with the Sun (you!!!) being the center.

Hope's Halo was born out of a place of creating a therapy space that offered true transparency, an unwillingness to succumb to hardship and a true desire to promote growth and development even in tough times. I sought to create a space I'd be attracted to; one that emphasized the learning, development and utilization of coping tools, challenging fears, working on acceptance, finding value in prioritization of self and recreating an internal dialogue that redefines boundaries, positive introspection, and improvements to self-worth.

Testimonials

Feedback submitted by Patients

You've made such progress with her on social anxiety and numerous other issues. You were there for her in very dark moments. We fully know and agree that you are, in your words, "a bomb ass therapist".

One of the things that Azmen does to help me is helping me step out of my comfort zone. Being scared to do things is understandable but Azmen helps me turn those fears into challenges to over come. She helps change a thinking process from negative to positive which is something that can be used for the rest of anyone’s life and Azmen showed me that.”

Customer Product Rating

Azmen has done an exceptional job working with our teenaged daughter on her anxiety, social skills and recent feelings of grief/loss. Since our journey began with Azmen over a year ago, our daughter has grown leaps and bounds! Azmen is gentle, yet firm in her approach when challenging our daughters thought distortions. Additionally, Azmen does well teaching her patients real world skills and coping techniques to use outside of her therapy sessions. Our child has not only gained confidence in herself, but has now began to challenge herself in ways we did not think were possible. Our child has also learned to start taking accountability and initiative, which are lifelong skills that will be extremely beneficial to her. We are incredibly grateful for the communication skills she has taught us as a family, so that our daughter feels more supported. [We would highly recommend Azmen as your next therapist.
